Interview:
Is it the first time you have played in Ibiza and at the Hippy Market and what does it mean to you playing in Ibiza and especially at the Hippy Market?
We played our first show at The Hippy Market two years ago and loved it! It’s lovely to play in such vibrant, cultural surroundings with such happy, open-minded people. The market itself is beautiful. So much to see and do.

How would you describe the atmosphere in the Hippy Market?
The atmosphere is amazing. We played to a sea of smiling, happy faces. So many people loving life and embracing the Balearic vibes. Good times!

Are you inspired by the hippie music of the 60ies/70ies?
Yes! We especially love the music of Bob Marley and the reggae pioneers of the 60s and 70s. You can feel these influences in everything we do, from our message, to our sound, to our look.

What does the word hippie mean to you nowadays?
Hippy is a state of mind. It’s about moving away from the trials and tribulations of modern life and enjoying the many wonders of our beautiful world. Don’t stress, don’t conform; just be happy and enjoy yourself. We’re on a mission to spread the hippy message to the four corners of the globe!

Rico Loop

Hippy Market, 10th of  September 2014, a  las 14.00 hrs in our tent "La Carpa":
Ricoloop – One man jam

Rico creates musical compositions using many different instruments and objects, including guitar, bass, keyboard, melodica, harmonica, and glass bottles, along with his voice (singing and mouth percussion, or beat-boxing). He plays and records a segment of music, which then repeats continuously. He can then play another segment of music and layer it on top of the previous one. With each layer the composition becomes more complex. This is a new technique of live-producing, teaching the audience how music is compiled and arranged, and exploring how rhythms and melodies interact. Rico’s passion is to convey images and emotions through his music.

Bing Ji Ling - live in our tent  "La Carpa" at 14 .oo h
R&B, Soul

The nom de plume of one Quinn Luke, Bing Ji Ling is an NYC–based producer/musician with a rich legacy of work behind and in front of him. Having co-produced, written, recorded and performed two full length records, an EP, and a slew of singles, collaborations and remixes, Luke thought the time was right to work with outside producers for the first time. Produced by Embassy Sound Productions (Sean Marquand and Daniel Collas, the men behind Phenomenal Handclap Band and records for Unao Black and Joe Bataan, among others), the album is an infectious, ambitious concoction of Soul, Pop and Psychedelia full of summer jams destined for heavy rotation. Featuring members of the Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Scissor Sisters, Antibalas and Phenomenal Handclap Band, the soon to be released "Shadow To Shine" is a work of stunning, soulful talent, marking the finest chapter in Luke's already accomplished career.
